Achill Folk life Centre in Dooagh and at the Deserted Village of
Slievemore, and is involved in a study of the prehistoric and historic
landscape at Slievemore, incorporating a research excavation at

monuments that span a 5000 year period from the Neolithic

Knock Shrine - Ireland's National Marian Shrine, is located in County Mayo. The Story of Knock began on the 21st August 1879 when Our Lady, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared at the south gable of Knock Parish Church. The apparition was witnessed by fifteen people, young and old. From this miraculous occurrence Knock has grown to the status of an internationally recognised Marian Shrine.

Michael Davitt Museum -
Michael Davitt was born in Straide, County Mayo, on March 25th 1846 at the height of the Great Famine. Joining the Fenians in 1865 he rose through the ranks to become organising secretary for England and Scotland.
